PACKAGING AND LABELING

The hams must be properly packaged and must include, on the packaging or labels or tags, rings and bands tied to the product, the name "Crudo di Cuneo" followed by the wording "Denominazione di origine protetta" (or DOP - PDO) in printed, clear, permanent characters, clearly distinguishable from any other writing appearing there. Similarly, the logo of the designation, the European Community logo as well as the producer's identification number entered in the control system must also be present.

The label, as shown here, is the identifying mark of genuine Crudo di Cuneo DOP and of each pack of ham. At the time of release for consumption, the ham must be provided with the label, approved by the inspection body, to guarantee the origin and identification of the PDO product.
The label inside features two logos combined: that of the Consortium and the European Community symbol, which is round and red-yellow, as provided by EU legislation.
Each pack, of both whole ham or portions of it, as well as any trays, must be provided with the label, distributed in a tightly controlled manner by the Consortium.
